The Partnership Program consists of three phases for the students:

Phase 1: The 9th grade students will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts at our Partnership Speaker Seminars.  Three times a year, GSMST brings 10-12 speakers to the school to meet with small groups of students and give them exposure to the vast array of careers available to them.  Our Fall 2010 Speaker Program will be scheduled soon.

Phase 2: The 10th grade students will have job-shadowing opportunities twice per year, in industries that they have selected as potential career interests.  These experiences will help them prepare for their junior and senior years, where Phase 3 allows them full internships.

Phase 3: The Junior Internship requires our 11th grade students to participate in an internship for one semester or a full year. These internships must be in the areas of bio-science, engineering, or emerging technologies and require the student to conduct research or complete a project under the direction of a faculty member or business partner.

Phase 4: Senior Capstone is the culminating event at GSMST, requiring the students to participate in a full year internship in the area of the student's choice. At the end of the year, each student will present their internship project to a panel of faculty and business partners. This gives our students the experience of discussing their work and presenting in a professional capacity.

If you or your company is interested in participating in any of the phases, please contact Molly McAuliffe at 678-518-6696 or molly_mcauliffe@gwinnett.k12.ga.us.
